well you probably dont want to invest a lot of money in the car, so you don't want to get anything painted by a bodyshop.Originally posted by PanamaE30Tell me everything you see wrong with this car on the pictures I've posted and the ones I will. You guys love to nitpick, please do so now. I need information from people that actually know. No matter how obvious a flaw it is, if it hasn't been stated share :P
two things i see that you could fix easily and cheaply: all the black on your car needs to be repainted. the plastic bumper surrounds are really battered.
use SEM trim paint on your grill, door handles, bumper strips, lower front valence, and anything else that's supposed to be black.
go to the junkyard and get some decent (non-wavey) bumper surround pieces. I don't know if your year convertible was supposed to come with those painted, but most diving-board cars have them black. so you could just paint your new pieces SEM black, too.
tuck your bumpers.
as far as the rockers, i'm puzzled, too. there is the black rubberized portion at the bottom, then you have a small strip of green, then another bodyline, then the rest of your fenders/door. that small strip of green is what puzzles me bc i don't recognize it. it has all the chips and crap on it. your cheap option there is to "extend" the rubberized part, by spraying undercoating or truck bed liner up on that green strip and below to cover up all the chips (or even use your leftover SEM trim paint and just make it all black). it may look a little different, but i think covering the chips will make it look at least a little better.Comment

some older e30s like yours had another stip of molding right abover the rockers. my friends car had it. it looks just like molding strip that runs along side the car.Comment
