OP, in case you haven't priced out M3 parts lately, they are STUPID expensive. M3 door sills, those plastic things? $395 EACH. For a little, thin strip of plastic...
Now I'm not going to rip on you or some shit, but let me just say this:
I know a thing or two about convertibles. An S14 is not a motor you want in a convertible. It has very little torque and you have to rev the piss out of it to make any power. It's perfect for a lightweight, rigid chassis like the M3. It is not good for the heavy, floppy chassis of a convertible. What you want is torque, i.e. some kind of 6 or 8 cylinder motor.
Also, please, for christ's sake, don't cut out any of the metal bracing in the car. It was put there for a reason, a real engineering reason. If you remove it you'll be left with nothing but a limp, wet noodle of a car. First bump you hit will make it shake like a college chick's ass at 1am the day after final exams. It will then get pounded, shoved out of bed at 7am and probably have an STI. So just don't.
Also there is no way you're ever going to get anything to bolt up to an S14 except for the G240. Period. Please just accept that fact of life.
