    newbie here... '87 325is

was hanging out with some E30 buddies last night and this website was brought up repeatedly, so i figured it was time to come over and check it out!

i picked up an '87 325is a few months back originally as a daily driver to keep the miles off my E34 525i that i bought with 38k original miles...
i planned on throwing no money at this car, but i fell in love with how fun E30's are and now its getting most the attention as of recent.
the car was pretty rough in spots when i picked it up, had a crunched fender, broken fog, cracked lip put back on with wood screws, ect. its on its way, but right now its def considered "under construction". kinda having fun with it before i respray it, clean it up, and have to be careful with her haha.

    heres a shot of the E30 -

and heres what are going on it next week!

Are you going to keep it a true 87? I hope so.

yep, the plans for the result will stay very true to the 87 'is...
once i get the respray it will take on a more clean look, and of course it will keep the diving boards/facia/ect. ...for now just having fun with it while i can. things like the fender are cause i replaced the fender and my mom owns a sign shop, so i figured houndstooth is cooler than black primer in the meantime haha. a side effect of it though is that it put a bit of local identity with the car so even after i retire the fender i may mimic the houndstooth somewhere more discrete as an homage to it.

but i feel i've seen it done somewhere before though. odd sense of deja vu.

little update on the car: ordered H&R adapters for the RS's yesterday... tracked them to be here tuesday! cant wait to roll these wheels.
