So I got my euro bumpers on just in time to travel back to MD to pick up the interior. On the downside I hit a semi truck tire and trashed the front end. On the upside, my father had the valence straightened, frame fixed and lip fixed within a few hours. Lucky for me the damage wasn't bad enough to keep me from getting to my parent's house. The frame was bent in so far that I couldn't fit my key between the radiator fan and the crank pulley. We were pretty lucky.
I got the new interior in and am pretty pleased with the final result. These are just a few quick shots of a filthy car. I will take better pictures once I get everything cleaned up. I am on the search for some M3 fogs and I plan on ordering all the necessary parts from Blunt to finish this off. The accident claimed one of the mounting covers on the front bumper but that's about all. I still need the driver's side rear end cap and a new lip as I really want the euro sport piece. Anyway on to the pics...
I'll have a FS thread up soon with my minty black sport interior and my plastic bumper swap as well as some other goodies I need to get rid of. I have decided after driving my old 328 this weekend that I want to do an M50 swap so it's time to get the money together. I also should mention that one of the reasons I headed to MD this past weekend was to work on my Maserati a little and get it ready for paint. Once the paint is laid, I am going to do a project thread as the interior is all that's left to do. A pic 'cause it's neat...
The day I bought it...
More recently...
And because I'm stuck in the office today, pics of my old e36 with 17x8.5 Brock B12s...
And the current autocross car, my Lotus Elan M100 up on 3...
Too many projects...
Thanks for looking!Last edited by BoxDriver86; 07-26-2010, 07:33 AM.

I'm starting to think there is such a thing as too many projects. I am about to pick up an MG for the fiancee as a weekend car for her. I plan on doing a ground-up with a rotary swap. I am going to be swamped!
Current projects:
86 E30 - Daily driver/outside sales rep work car
91 Lotus Elan - Autocross car/weekend ice cream hunter
87 Biturbo Si - Museum piece
00 Audi A4 S-line - Fiancee's daily driver
--- MG - Fiancee's weekend car
79 Porsche 928 - Father's track car
I really should just buy something with a warranty and call it a day...sigh.
@ Bimmerista - That's because no one else is dumb enough to buy a British car built by GM with an Isuzu powerplant. It is a blast to drive though. It was supposed to be a daily and then came the e30...

My car looks like shit.
So I get home early from work on Friday, turn around to walk back to my car and think to myself "that car looks awful." As I walk in my house disgruntled, my fiancee tells me to cancel the Bentley we rented for our wedding because she wants to drive off in the e30. Seriously. Reason I'm marrying her #357.
So I was instantly motivated to get some work done. I've realized slowly that this car is a basket case and that's why I love it. Now with the fiancee's approval and the fact we were both on call for work, it was time to dig into the car. But first...gotta get some dinner in my system:
My shrimp creole recipe. It's epic. Want it? PM me. Now, work to be done. First, wash the car using the two bucket method.
The, take note that some prick backed into your car and you have to straighten your euro bumper and fix a dent in the rear.
Notice the extra trunk carpet? I had thought it would be a bright idea to try and install a post '88 trunk carpet set in my early model. Didn't work. This was also on the fix-it list.
Now, there was a small rust spot that I wanted to sort out on the driver's rear quarter panel...
If you look closely, you'll see a great deal on some golf clubs. They were gone by the time I called. I wanted to become a better golfer because after another six hours of grinding, then welding, then grinding, sanding, skim coating, sanding, priming, sanding and painting I hated my car. All in the name of rust prevention.
Still looks awful but I'm going to repaint the car next winter god willing so perhaps I can deal for now. Next up, claybar x2, Poorboys SSR3, SSR2.5, SSR1, Auto Glym Wax, Auto Glym sealer, Meguiar's Final Inspection. Detail the interior, replace valve cover and intake manifold, all top end gaskets, rebuild fuel injectors with new filters rings and pintle caps, new MAF, all new fuel lines, fuel filter, oil and filter change and drink a 6 pack of Brooklyn Lager with some tacos on the side. By the end of the weekend, here's where we stood before I left for work this morning.
Things that have occurred since my last update: new chrome window strips, Ansa exhaust, and 36 average mpg highway. I love my ETA.
Thanks for looking and as always, questions and comments welcome. There is a catch though, if you want to bust on me for not having the right fog lights, you have to send me a set of ZKWs. It's a rule.
