    Some track/autox pictures from today

Headed over to Bremerton for the BSCC autox today, and had my camera crew along, it was wetter then a lake on the track in the morning, got a tad better in the late morning, but was still slick as hell.

Yes it was freezing, raining, and windy. I had a hard time keeping the camera straight while my hands were freezing and the wind didn't help much either.

I just realized that Miata is running stretched tires on what looks to be 9" wide rims.

Probably because it lends a more predictable feeling at the limits compared to the same size tires on more "standard" width wheels. Seriously, I don't see any other hints towards him wanting to look cool, and the stretch is functional.

yeah that same miata was at the Everett autox.. was pretty quick too.

how did you do in the rain james? I was hoping for some rain when I went, but it turned out to be dry. haha.. must have sucked to work the course though. it was cold as hell in Everett, but at least it was sunny...

we seriously need to get a bunch of E30s at one of these autocrosses, and have them all run in the same group.. :)

working the course did suck, colder as shit, and in light of that, I am really sick at the moment because of it :p

How did I do? not to bad, i'm in the NOV class, however from what i heard I was one of the better new drivers on a wet course, and considering the fact that I have never driven my car near the limit on wet roads, it was indeed an interesting time. During my 5 runs I nailed one cone, and spun out once when the rear snapped away from me. However on my 5th run the track dried up and I hammered through it and shaved around 5 seconds off my run.

There is another BSCC AutoX in April, on the 17th (Sunday) that I will be heading to

I should have the 17th off.. Bremerton is one hell of a drive from here, but that might be fun. :)

                              Thats no ordinary Maita

I know that Miata. It belongs to Dieter Beldi. Those are 9" wide ultra lite custom wheels with Hoosier bias ply tires. The needs all of that rubber because there is a pretty large turbo under the hood. Dieter is usually the top time for the day. He routinely beats everything from Corvettes to P-cars. The car is a rocket and he is a "hot shoe"
