Hit bump, car steers itself towards ditch.
Or the far scarier effect of bump steer, which is more like "body roll steer." I am not sure if rack and pinion BMWs are subjected to this as they are a forward-rack design, but cars with the rack behind the control arms can tend to steer themselves as a result of body roll--you turn left, car rolls to the right, as a result of bump steer winds up steering itself more left. It is scary and much more prevalent at high speeds. Being a forward-rack design e30s may have the opposite effect of just steering less, which is much more manageable.Leave a comment:

Forgive me, but I still do not understand how bump-steer can lead someone to crash.
Can someone please educate me?Leave a comment:

my my room ate came across this is in another thread, he saw the notched subframe and said to me "have you ever seen and e30 with a notched subframe???" I quick ran over and it was exactly what i thought...
shame it had a rare 333i intake mani...
wonder how he wrecked it? probs drinking tab while driving... hit a bump, bump steer happened and the car ended its own life... couldn't live anymore without an OEM gas cap...
i was wondering why we havent heard from him... someone should get the story from himLeave a comment:

The car looks really good,
I think it looked better with the H1/H4 lights you had on earlier, it matches up with the period the car came out. For some reason also looks better.Leave a comment:
