Yes, its Madface's old car. his name is fthelemnt on vortex and real name is Stephen.

all that information should have DEFINATELY been disclosed prior to sale and as i said previously, im not overly concerned with the boots, pan seal, and sway bar. but, the hole in the block.........totally different story. im not going to deny that its there or not believe what the mechanic is telling me. he can see it with his own two eyes and i have no reason to believe that he would tell me some shit like that without it being true. he already knows the whole situation ive gone through to this point.

CV boots get damaged when you roll that low. Oil pan gasket fails all the time. The rear sway bar has a tendency to pop out of the sway bar links. As for the "hole in the block" i'm not sure how your mechanic deduced this without completely tearing apart the engine.

Good luck with the troubles and keep us posted.

Sorry to hear about that, that should have been disclosed by the seller, very bad act on his part... But that 20th anniv. GTI looks sweet, my buddy has the same exact one but with 18 inch BBS's. Hope everything works out!

welcome to the forum, sorry for all the problems. Don't know about how they are in the USA but in Finland they tend to be pretty busted up after the finish driving style :D I bought mine for 800€ and spent 2000 just getting it roadworthy. Still worth every penny!!!! can't find a better winter car

I'll have pictures to post up tonight. The other issues aren't really issues, but yeah, should have been disclosed. I'm already out $300 in parts, $190 for the tow, and $240 for a plane ticket home.

What? Explain this a little more.

As for the rest - those are fairly easy fixes - though they are the kind of things that should have been disclosed for sure.

    Well, the shop called:

Hole in the block that was gummed up/sealed poorly, cv boots blown, sway hanging off the back, and oil pan gasket leaking.

I think I've most definitely been had at this point. Feels pretty awesome.......

I guess the avatar pic and the signature don't help.

The car in the sig I sold back in 2005 and now I have a silver 4 door with a roll cage in it.

So yeah, literally your neighbor. (Or at least your folks'). :) Does that clear it up?

There's nary a bolt I have not turned on an e30. Literally. So you can always hit me up with any questions.
