Thought id share my Touring with you.

    Hello guys!
Been a while since ive been on here.
Been driving an E36 for the last year or so but boredom soon took over and prompted me to sell it on.
I picked up this immaculate 1994 316i Touring which is my new project base.
Its in MugelloRot which seems to be pretty rare on any E30 as most were BrilliantRot and although the two shades look similar they are very different when seen side by side.
Full BMW history from new and only 2 local owners who have clearly taken good care of it over the years.
    Anyway my plans.....
Already fitted an Mtec 2 steering wheel, leather gearknob and handbrake lever parts and am on the look out for a pair of Sports front seats to finish the inside off.
Exterior will remain pretty standard looking with the exception of 318is front lip spoiler which ive already fitted and maybe some smoked headlamps too.
Wheels are in pretty mint condition with as new tyres so ill probably stick with those.
Suspension will be upgraded later today including Bilstein B8 front shocks with some budget 60mm front springs.Rear shocks are only year old Boge shocks so ill leave them on but will fit some E46 M3 rear topmounts to them and some 40mm lowering springs to give a nice rake.
Brakes are standard apart from Green stuff pads up front but I will be changing the servo for smaller Renault Clio item.
Engine and gearbox is coming out very soon and will be replaced with an M52B28.
Overall its a cracking base for a project and im looking forward to getting my teeth stuck into it :D

    Few pics...

Yes mate,VulcanGrau M50 which was sold to a fellow E30zoner about 3yrs ago now.
FrankM yes it was registered on 30/03/1994 making it one of the last I beleive.
Boomer the Blaupunkt Bavaria has been fitted since new but being a 94 car I assume some E36`s had them too.Now been removed and replaced with a Sony Cd unit.

Im not really a big fan of Red cars, especially the fading usually associated with them but once I spotted the colour name that helped pursuade me to buy it.Ive been told Mugello Red was really a 95 M5 colour and virtually unheard of on an E30,ive certainly never heard of it before now!

Got a few more bits done to the car although still not managed to find a decent M52 within my budget.
Rear electric window kit all fitted and working and swapped the original cassette player for a more modern Sony.Bit basic but at least it plays CD`s.
Swapped the standard front shocks and springs for some Bilstein B8`s and crappy lowering springs. They still need to settle in so think the front will drop another few mm over the next few days.
Previous owner has clearly spent a good few quid on it recently.I knew it had a recon steering rack but when I got the wheels off today I got a pleasant surprise.
New rack and complete tiebars, new discs and Green stuff pads, new wishbones and standard TCA bushes and new droplinks too :P
So ill pick up a pair of eccentric M3 TCA bushes next week and get them fitted.E36 rack will be going in when I do the M52 swap.
Ive got a spare set of rear lights that I might tint the indicators Red on and this week ill be ordering some Laminex for the headlights too(sick of doing the xhairs thing now  ).
SE sideskirts ready to be fitted, just waiting on the sill clips to be delivered from BMW which should be here tomorow.
Ill also be swapping the door panels for the SE type with the cloth inserts at some point.
Just taken a few pics but my phone isnt up to much so not the best quality!

                              Thanks for the comments guys!
To be fair I only bought this as a stop gap untill I can afford a nice spec E46 and if im honest im not even a big fan of the Touring models, more of a 2 door person.
Obviously the condition of the car and the full service history are what made me go and view it.The minute I saw it I thought the same as you lot...wow.
Within 10 mins of getting it home my mind had changed on the E46(atleast for now) and the plans for modifying soon set in.
Im currently on the lookout for a donor E36 328i as it is massively underpowered being a 316i although im loving the fuel economy.
Will inevitably be for sale at some point in the future though so I can get a E46.
Wonder what the export fees to the US would be??
