    4 happy years of ownership

Well, today I realized that its been right around 4 years since I bought my E30. I thought it'd be fun to go through old pictures and post some of the progress. Enjoy.

Day 1. Bone stock, 91,000 miles, automatic, 2 previous owners, both ladies who kept it garaged all its life. $3,000 with completely up to date maintenence, just needed to do the timing belt.

First few ricer mods, clear lights, DTM stickers, etc.

It's been my surfer mobile for the last 4 years!

My first suspension upgrades: M3 springs with Boge Turbo's, added the authentic Rieger front lip, one of the first ones in North America.

Picked up my throwing stars for cheap after searching for a while for a set of rims. I had a nice set of baskets that ended up being unsatisfactory, never mounted them on the car. Rocked the t-stars for a while with 225/50-16 meat treads.

M3 springs, same old back on the bottlecaps.

Summer time came around and it was time for a better suspension setup. AP Sport 60/40mm springs with matched shocks. I also painted the valve cover and intake manifold and did a few other things, car was down for a while.

    It sure was dumped now.

Finally got some nice 205/50-16 tires. Broke the Rieger lip into pieces.

Fixed the Rieger lip, smoked the sides.

    Broke the Rieger lip again.

    Autocross mode:

Painted my bottlecaps as they became track rims.

    Nice and clean.

    Summer time.

Car went down for the its biggest transformation. 5 speed swap with lightened flywheel, SSK, 4.10 LSD, urethane bushings, all new brakes, and a lot of other goodies.

    Post-tranny swap.

    Picked up a Corbeau Forza.

    Interior shot, kinda old.

Most recent photoshoot from New Years eve. Car has been washed once since then. I have some things to fix, and a matching Corbeau Forza to install. I have no idea what is next for the car, except new tires and perhaps a goodie to come when there are no tires on the throwing stars.

Really nice car...while scrolling down I kept wondering if you finally did a manual swap...and you did which makes that an even nicer car. Can't wait to see what's next.

                          I envy you... :D

Car has come a long way! Hopefully my list will be nice and big soon too.

I've owned my for a little over a year now too - actually, a year and 2 months.

I loed all the history in the pictures, I hope I can do that too.

How much were the wires, and was there a noticeable difference?

How's the shifting with the Z4 3.0L lever? I added solder around my shift lever to help smooth up shifting, but is it a little tough for you too?

Does your ChrisD shiftknob ever come loose? After two days, mine wiggles a little bit.

Lastly - I thought those weaves looked AMAZING - what happened to them?

Gorgeous car, TJ. One of my favorite on here. If only my paint were THAT good.
