But WTF! my caliper on the passenger side also locked up on me twice! I think it was a bad rotor. As I replaced everything except that the first time (stupid I know).
Is this a big undisclosed problem with E30's?

Deam man glad your ok. Also thank god it didnt happen in any of the mountain roads in PR. I live in Cayey for a while those mountain roads up there are really bad (two lane roads that only fit one car lol). Anyway bro Dios aprieta pero no ahoga, cant wait to see your next project.

Btw im still thinking about the question if this is a common problem with E30 and can it be solved with a simple stock replacement caliper and hardwear change?

Wow. Sorry to hear that man. Glad to hear your ok though. That happened to me about a month ago and put a whole in the front wheel. Luckily I was somehow able to slow down the car and get off to the shoulder. I was on the highway doing 75. Luckily it was an empty highway. I really had never heard about this ever happening.
