Yeah this is 1st time I'm tackling a redye project, so the uncertainties are there, but i'm hoping they come out looking ok. I'm taking my time w/ it since I know the prep and patience should rear a good end result.

I started filling it last night, sanded and applied two more coats of filler. i tested a couple areas out after it was fully dry to see how this product holds up under flex, and it appears to work well! The filler is almost identical to Elmers glue in consistency, and dries clear. I did a light sand in between applications.

Interestingly enough, i went to scuff down the center sections of the seat based on the directions I saw online (which were to use the provided scuffing pad + cleaner to prep the leather for dye)...and it was amazing how clean & matte the center sections of the seat got getting rid of the ugly sheen old leathers get. With that said, I'll be redyeing ONLY the bolsters on all corners first to see how it comes out. I tested the dye to see how closely it matches to the existing leather and it appears to be spot on. It's almost a sin to redye the centers since they are impeccable shape considering.

Looking forward to seeing the results. Im planning on doing the same thing with my seats. Ive been lurking around furniture clinic and leatherique, and both kits are fairly expensive. I think Ill be purchasing a leather world kit as well.

That looks fucking awesome and has well convinced me to buy the leatherworld kit for my cardinal seats! would you say it still has a natural feel to it after the filling/dying?

it def does has a natural feel....way smoother and def softer (after scuffing the leather prior to the dye).

One suggestion tho, def use an spray gun/airbrush to apply. I tried using Preval (aerosol sprayer), and failed since the dye was a bit too thick for it to run thru the aerosol can. The foam applicator that it comes with leaves brush strokes but not that noticeable.
