First take that shitty lip off and find a cheap OEM replacement. My first priority would be to take care of any maintenance needs finished and make sure everything is in good running order. Then prioritize what is most important to you. Does the interior suck bad enough for it to take precedence over a nice drop? Do you want a sweet stereo? Do you need a new top? Do you want to turn it into a track car? Ask yourself these types of questions and you will find a good place to start.

The car looks fantastic from the back, but it all goes downhill from there.
haha ouch! it all goes downhill from there...I did plan to paint the front bumper (trim included) and the side skirts as well. Looking into reupholstering my seats and sorting the AC. The volvo lip stays until I can pick up an OEM IS lip for cheap.

Then supension. Bilstein Sports and Lowering/Sport springs of your choice would be a good starting point. While you are under there doing those, you can take a good look at all the bushings bearings and whatnot and figure out what needs to be sorted in that department.
Only after these two things would I even concider anything cosmetic. But that volvo lip does have to go...
Solid advice man, don't plan to drive the car much until I have it properly checked out by the indy.

I'm ready to get some new wheels. I was thinking along the lines of style 5s. I really like 17" style 5s, but may only be able to afford 16". Would I need a drop with the 17s?

Man thats nice. Your so lucky that you have a late model valence in the rear.
My only thought is, get ride of the volvo lip for a nice IS lip and paint said lip and rockers red

I'm more or less going for this look. Maybe not so low though. Wondering how a red vert would look on 17" style 5s.

Thanks, when shopping for a vert, it would either be alpine or red. I always said if I got an alpine vert i'd basically clone your car. In the future i'd hope to score a nice IS lip and repaint the front bumper/valance. Right now I need style 5s in my life though, so all that will have to wait.

you can find the IS lip at tischer BMW for less, and it will be much less than a set of style 5. I would rather do the suspension before the wheels. will improve not only the ride, but the looks department also.

Tischer may have the lip for less, but thats still $115. I'm on the look out for a good set of used lowering springs.
