    Before, During & After?

New to this forum. Picked up a black 1990 325is a couple of months ago. After some mechanical work and some driving I took it in for a paint job last week.

i always wondered what a plastic bumper with an 86-87 IS valence would look like. looks good. but paint the bumper.

Bumper will be painted, had to take it apart to see how it was put together and what was missing underneath. Also adding is side skirts.

Project update. Decided to go with stock front panel which I found here used. Needed to be stripped and still needs some minor straightening. Picked up a new is spoiler lip, air ducts and inner fender trim pieces. Looking for a good set of used fogs lights with brackets. Should be painted by the end of this week and reassembled next week.

            It's Black Again

Haven't posted an update for a while. Most of the car is painted except for the front panel which needed some straightening. Kind of looks like a mess with windows out and the front end torn apart. Windows should have gone in today and will hopefully have it mostly together by the end of this weekend.

Here's a shot of some of the stuff I got at the junkyard. Not pictured a/c compressor and rear windshield.

Went outside to take some more pictures. Here's the wheels with tires mounted. WTF I restored 2 left side grills - oh well I have some more trim work to do tomorrow.

I may have to sell the van to pay for the all the work I am doing. Plus it's a never ending repair job.

Jinxed myself with the last post. On the way to check the surf this morning the van broke down. Coolant pipe tower flange broke and I lost all the coolant. After letting it cool down crawled under and managed to get it clamped back on temporarily and refilled with coolant. Took it over to the shop pulled of the old and was lucky to find a replacement down the street. 1 1/2 hours later I was on my way back to the beach. I needed some time in the water to get over all of that.

Painting is done and the car is back together, but I have been to busy to take decent photos. Car is still in the shop while I try to get the central locking system working with Luke's help. Don't want to put the door cards and front speaker panels on till this is worked out.

Here' the last shot I took after the black was resprayed - before the clear coat.
