Something must have been terribly wrong with your jeep. Maybe your mistaking 4.0 for 4cyl. My 4.0 has 183k, no problems. Way faster than my dad's chevy z71 1500.

No I had the inline 6 in that thing, and it sucked balls. And on another note my 318i is not stock, it does pretty good for the 4cyl that's in it. If I want to drive something with power I will just hop in My Ford with a built 390. Jeeps are not fast, just decent trail rigs.

OP, yeah 06 was the last year of the 4.0 liter, after that the JK came out. Check Jeepforum, there is tons of info there.

well 'biggest POS' might be an exaggeration. they have a great aesthetic, a very rugged, simple construction, and are down right fun! the only downside is that the motors they got were mostly garbage, and paired with the crap transmissions, they drove much like a farm tractor. maybe the newer models are better?

I have no idea what you are talking about. The 4.0 liter that came in most jeeps is a great motor. Designed by AMC and built by them until Chryco took over. They are known to be bullet proof and super reliable. The 4 cylinders are also really good. The trannys that came in the wranglers and cherokees, both manual and 5 speed are wonderful trannys that put up with a lot of abuse. The trannys which come in the v8 grand cherokees do suck though.
