qualifying lap record and fastest race lap record.

BMWAGA isn't stupid. They had to build and sell 5,000 of these cars in the USA. What better way to do that than to sell the first 2 to a quality racer like Ray Korman? Remember the old racing addage "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday"?
Well it worked. One of those 2 cars ended up in my old friend Kermit Upton's hands where he raced it for a while,too. It is amazing that either of these 2 even survived after all that track time. There must be a hundred good stories behind this car. How about all the paint jobs over the years? The number of grenaded S14s? The crashes and repairs? Good to see it where it was meant to be. This one is not the bubble car, folks! Time for the Indy 500. Go Danica!!!! :twisted:

While I think the paint scheme is super BEAUTIFUL, I would have liked to see the car with a full restoration to the Korman spec when it was raced.

Why does he need to show a pic of the vin to you pricks? Why would he care what a bunch of kids think?

The car doesn't belong to me. I was at Mid-Ohio for a day and I didn't take a picture of the VIN because I saw no reason to. I'm not driving a hour and a half today to get pictures of the VIN for the skeptics.

My friend is the Parts Manager at Cleveland BMW. Its his friend who owns the car.

Heres a few things I would like to clear up. BMW isn't going to be racing an e30 m3 anymore. They have no use for the car. It was meant to be a race car and its going to continue being one with its current owners. I'm not sure if the current owner bought it from BMW or from a private owner, but eitherway, the price has no bearing on the authenticity of the car. Should the car have been worth $100,000 because it was number one? Everything has a value. Everything has a selling price.

I was up close to the car while it was in a garage at Mid-Ohio. The thing is just a race car. The s14 engine is beautiful. From what I gathered while in the garage standing next to it, the engine has been rebuilt a few dozen times.

I'm not one to post on these forums unless what I have to say is worthwhile. If you don't believe me its #00001, I don't care. Some of you guys soon enough, will find out or hear about it.

That must be one fun car, good to see it still on the track. So, do I have this right, that is the #1 US Spec M3? Or is it the #1 M3?
I bet that S14 has gone through many rebuilds, does anybody know if the engine is to the same spec that Korman had it? If so, that thing probably has to be rebuilt after about 5 races. I read about the "sprint" spec S14 racers, and they are said to be rebuilt every 3 races, but those are pushing 360hp! Who could imagine a NA 4 banger could put that much power out, just amazing.
