My new DD? let me know what you think... to keep or not to keep

1987 325is coupe
I bought this the other day solely because it was a 5spd coupe very close to my house and it runs and drives.

now the bad:
cracked dash
shitty paint job needs redone
power steering is super LOUD! rack needs replaced
rust on passenger side rear panel and under the passenger rear shock mount.
muffler has a hole in it
ugly tails
odometer broken whats new
interior is shitty
windshield is cracked...

ok enough bitching here is the good:
5spd coupe runs great
I have interior for it that will make it a lot better until I can find something really nice.
all electric works
besides that I'm just debating to part it or keep it i originally wanted to keep it but the more i see all the shit that needs work

Plans if i keep it are euroweaves h&r race bilstien startecs sports ellipsoids install foglights dash windshield and bumper trim. I have all those parts
stuff i need :
Seats either cloth or leather must be mint.
e36 rack or rebuilt e30 rack
Body and paint guy local
is floor mats just sold a set lol

that rust is bad, its in a bad pace too. I say get rid or it. If you decide to keep it, those tail lights gotta go!

yea they are nasty I have a set of startecs that will look nice on black. I need to find out houw much to fix the rust first then go from there.

I paid a fair price but not a steal for sure...

Drive it into the ground - then part it out, or do cheap preventative maintenance and drive it for years till the engine/shocks finally go - then part out....or try to sell it for what you paid.


That rust is rough, once you start tearing into it, you will find more. It probably has holes in the floor boards where you put your right foot (driver), and pass. side as-well.

Gonna delete ps today see how it feels and put new pads on front if its good I guess ill be driving it for a while until I can afford my touring....

If it runs well, DD the tar out of it.

Being DD, too, rattlecan paint or roller paint it. Make it a commuter battle tank.

First part sold! I wanna make it desert color camouflage... But first take the is valance off. Imn gonna put that on my vert Maybe you come down and.we spray this beast. Plus I have a bag of parts for you.

Like you said it is a daily driver. Fix the rust spot for as little as possible but legit. Do basic maintance and drive it.:up:

Fucking Badass I'm excited to do something different maybe even do a custom desert interior... oh this could be bad but either way it will be fun...
gotta get some meaty tires and hardcore wheels with spikes... Pop the sunroof out and make a Gun mount... I want this to look rough rugged and mean... maybe going too far but we will see

i checked this car out in person. i walked away.

that has to be one of the loudest m20s i've ever heard. i asked him when was the last time he adjusted the valves and he got really upset and yelled at me that m20s dont need to have their valves adjusted.

as i was getting back in my car i think he yelled $800. i told him not even for $500.

i would double check all maintenance items really well. that guy does not know a thing about e30s.
