Plastics will fit, front you got to cut off the tow hooks, but it's the rear that you have to cut the rear down. http://www.r3vlimited.com/tech/bumper/bumper1.htm

And most of the aftermarket bumpers ive seen look hokie...

I don't consider the Mini a BMW but I do approve of the e30. It has great potential.

(Yes I know BMW owns Mini and such)

Ah, okay. I got 'em mixed up. I was afraid that the aftermarket bumpers would look "meh". Just thought I'd ask though. I guess I'll do the plastic front, and a tuck in the rear (that's what she said!) for starters.

True. It's just dumb when customers say they own a BMW, and hand me Mini Cooper keys..they then say it's a Mini BMW lol. Oh goodness.

Personally, I would try to look for euro bumpers. They would look MUCH better than plastics.

Here's my old e30 with euro bumpers.

I'm not trying to jack your thread, just giving you some much needed motivation :)

I've also posted before and after pictures of that e30 too (Search under my name), if you want to see the progress I made before I sold it.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the Bimmer vs. Mini thing. I was actually corrected the other day when I said "BMW makes MINI." Freudian slip? Maybe, but I'm not that kind of psychologist (I'm actually a cognitive scientist). Wow, that was a tangent. Moving on...

Honestly... I think I'm in love with the euro bumpers. But I might be able to find a plastic bumper in decent shape out here in ATL for as little as $25. Right now I just want to fix the cosmetics quickly and efficiently so I can move on to ditching the wheelgap and fitting some wider wheels!

Think much yet on the engine and maintainence?

                  Function before form.

Full tune up this weekend. Hopefully, I'll have time to put some new seats in and do some cosmetic work. But yes, sir, function over form!

                      Haha that made me lol.

Early models deserve nothing BUT euro bumpers in my opinion. Sure they're kind of difficult to track down and some what expensive, but in the long run, they look SO much better than plastics.

Wow, the tune up did wonders for my engine. Go Seafoam!

Next on the plate... Fix the interior and figure out whether I want to wrap it or paint it. The wife says paint. But wrapping would be more fun. :D

Also... I've been looking around for coilovers comparable to VMaxx. I love the KW's on the MINI, but I just want to ditch the wheelgap on this thing. Nothing too fancy. I won't be taking it to the track. Any suggestions? The only thing I found that seems to be close are JOM's. Thoughts?
