Some of you may remember this fiasco: http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=187883
So after receiving the car in November and having no place to really work on it (small garage and freezing cold temps) winter really yielded no progress. A week and a half ago i brought the car to a friends heated/well equipped shop and i began work on completing the swap, and there was a hell of a lot that needed to be done.
Since Mike (guy who quit the swap halfway through) did a half-ass and didn't label any wires, hoses, clips, etc labeled i spent a ton of time guessing and searching. I also found many things missing all together or on just finger tight. There were bolts missing from the throttle body, oil pan, drive-shaft, fuel rail, fuse box, wire clips, intake mani nuts etc... There was also a mess of things that were done wrong all together some wiring was botched causing my harness adapter to burn up, along with the oil pan level wire.
So hours of searching, PM'ing, and reading wire diagrams I got the harness adapter right. Then I went trough EVERYTHING with a fine tooth comb checking every oil pan nut, intake mani nut, coolant hoses, fuel lines, vacuum lines, etc... If i had to estimate I'd say i spent a good two full days going through every little thing making sure it was tight and right.
Then when it was time to start the car i had no fuel, and no spark. So after some investigating it was determined that the fuel pump wasnt kicking on. I checked and re-checked the relays, grounds, etc... Danny suggested that maybe the DME chip was in backwards...and after all the crap I'd seen done wrong already i really wasnt all that suprised to see that the chip was infact backwards. After flipping it around the injectors were still not firing and there was still nno spark. So after checking EVERYTHING electrical again, I borrowed a known good DME and just like that the car fired up! Wohooo! The DME I borrowed has been rained on and is tuned for an M50 so the car is running like crap, but its running. I ordered a good DME from a member on here so as of tomorrow my car should be running right.
I'm super stoked, all i need to do is get exhaust set up and clean her up and ill be good to go. Thanks R3v for all your help.
Without further ado i give you my running open header S50.
