Am I the only one who doesn't "get" black is lips? :?
Nice detailing job, I'd love to pay for something like that, but I'd cry when it rains.
I usually dont like them too much, mine is body colored, but Jamies car looks good with the black lip, and its much easier than color matching. We used 5-6 coats of SEM Semi-gloss and it turned out nicely
looks clean! I just washed my car for the first time since october. Of course, we've had nothing but rain for the last few months, so there really isn't much point. I just wanted to get new wax on the paint before it snows next week to protect it from all the sand..
body colored is lips look nice but black ones are much easier to care for and they look a heck of a lot better than gravel pitted, curbed, paint-chipped body colored ones. :)
Looks good, Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it? And If you don't mind me asking how much was it? I've been contemplenting getting my car done at a shop down the road but am not sure if I will yet or not. With my car being Black it shows dirt so Easily and I've never gotten it fully clean, I need to use a clay bar on it but might just have someone else do the dirty work then I can just keep it clean.
I wash cars at the dealer, in the same building as their detail shop. I will definately get them to wax/detail my car if I ever get my car repainted. Employee discount is tight.
I did all the detailing and painting. I work at a detail shop at a dealership...it can cost anywhere from $20-$180 from basic to a full detail. On his car I just wet-sanded and buffed. Usually detail shops at dealerships will do a pretty good job, but some are better than others. Ive seen some pretty dissapointing work at other dealerships around here. I guess it just depends on your area
when I got my pathfinder I got it professionally detailed to the tune of $200, seriously the best 200 dollars Ive spent on my pos. The car seriously was cleaned maybe once in the ten years my dad owned it, and that cleaning involved taking out all the trash that could be picked up and then throwing in an air freshner. The carpet was rock hard to the touch, it didnt feel like carpet anymore. When I brought the car in the guy said it was one of the worst cars hes ever seen, it took him an entire day to clean it, and trust me it came out a completely different car. Paint looked like new, interior was spotless. Its seriously worth the dough if your car really needs to be cleaned, but for most cars where people actually take car and put a lil effort into keeping it clean, its not worth it.
