Baur made 114 325iX's, 21 of them with an automatic. The red you see here is no 39 of the 325iX's (B47172-13, which makes it the 7172th Baur). I also have a white 325iX Baur, no 34 (B47095-13).
Both are from october 1986. The M3 is from december 1986.
Baur was the factory who build these cabriolet with rollbar:
They started building convertibles for Maybach, Mercedes and so on in the 1910's, 1920's. Since mid 1930's, they also did BMW convertibles (326, 501/502, 700, 1600, 2002, E21) and other brands (DKW, Opel, Bitter). For BMW they also made the security 5 and 7-series as well as the M1 and Z1.
