There is no way that your leg will ever hit the USB plug in the location where mine are. That is unless you have comfort seats and a leg that's 40" around. I can't hit it with my knee if I try.

The console is more limited than you think bc of the window switches, circuit breaker, and ash tray. There isn't a spot to make two look nice next to the window switches.
I thought about the dash, but I didn't want wires hanging out everywhere.

I went to Fry's a bought a 2 different kinds of USB port and one of them had 4 wires on them is why I asked for the wiring. But if I just used the cig. loghter thingy, there are only 2 wires, right?

I am doing this project today.

I didn't take any pictures of the process.

If you crack one open and it isn't glaringly obvious how to wire it up, you probably don't solder well enough to get it to work properly; the board is pretty tiny. Well, I guess I knew where to solder, but still suck at it.

You can always just leave it in original form and just plug it in the cig lighter port.

Best of all, no hacking up your interior. But...I'm not responsible for your battery getting drained.

    ^^^

    That's exactly what I'm using.

I wanted something more permanent. I tried just plugging it into the cig lighter port, but it would come out every time when I pulled the USB cord. I wanted something more permanent... and one for the driver and passenger (arguing about who deserves the charger sucks haha).

Not too worried about battery drain. Each has a tiny LED on the board for the light. I left my old cigarette lighter iPhone charger plugged in for years with a brighter light and never had issues.

I didn't really take any pictures of the process. It's pretty easy though. I had to have my friend do the soldering though bc I suck at it and the positive terminal on the board is pretty small.

For power, I just used wire taps and tapped into the cigarette lighter.

Discovered the best use for these today.

    IPhone charging in driver's port.

Jawbone charging in passenger's port. Mine's dead half the time bc I always forget to charge it.

Exactly why I installed them. Plus the cigarette lighter is constant power so even with the car off it'll charge two phones.

I need to do this, specially since since my iPod connect to my radio wont charge the phone at the same time....
