Long story short, I'm rebuilding an S52 for the boosted real drift car. Since I don't want to miss any drift days, I bought back a car I had years ago.
I originally bought this car years ago for $900 negotiated down to $600 due to what the PO thought was a bad oil pump. I dropped the pan, checked the pump, resealed everything and fixed the wiring on the oil pressure sensor. So I drove around this 1989 325i auto for a few months.
Eventually I did a manual swap and sold it for a good profit. Then, a year later, the new owner decided he couldn't keep it and sold it back to me for $500. Can't get much better than that right? Chassis currently has 165k or so on the clock.
The point of the car is to give me something to slide for this season for as cheap as possible. The wife is currently unemployed so money is tight. Meaning, I swapped over all the parts from the turbo drift car.
Mods:
Koni yellows front
Mustang koni yellows rear
12k front springs, 18k rear springs.
E46 control arms
E30 M3 front sway links w stock sway bar
no rear sway bar
3.73 lsd
Kmac camber/caster plates
17x8 xxr 006 w direzza star specs 215/45/17 front
in the pictures below 17x9 006s with feddies 235/45/17
When drifting I run 15x8 xxr 002 or 513s w 195/60/15 random tires
25mm spacers all around
5mm tie rod spacers (hence the spacers)
THR lollipops
solid bushings in the rear
75d trailing arm bushings
No engine/drive train mods
I had to raise the car more than I wanted to since this chassis doesn't have the flares and such and the spacers make it look a bit mexi poke but it drifts like butter. So far I've done a couple drift days and an NCCA autox with no issues.
Exterior shots

Greasy underside lol

OMG an interior!

Stockity stock stock engine bay.

Not Janderson pretty/clean obviously. At least it gets my track day on.
