what's the difference? stud nuts are designed in the same fashion as the heads of the bolts.

They're supposed to go into pockets..it centers the bolt in the hole, provide a good mounting point for the bolt,so that it won't just slide around (pocket holds it in place) etc.

Inside the hole I think it is beveled, but I will take a look at it tomorrow.

But I see what you are saying

I have done my home work on this and other similar theories, concerns about safety? there is enough material, contact points are recessed , and the way the forces are applied no need to worry, I can do a whole cal equation to demo but really? Yeah the holes could be filled all the way but, I'm running caps. If power out put was the issue, well I don't think the 200bhp nor the similar torque will be suffice to trash a set of forged BBS wheels. Beside, after the finished product i.e. paint, interior, tons of powder coating and a whole lot of new parts, this is going to be a beach and downtown Savannah cruiser for me and the old lady. Mostly looks, some go and a butt load of smiles:)

i'm not concerned about the holes not being filled all the way, just the lack of proper resting pockets for the bolts/studs. If you've done the homework why didn't you do a proper redrill..? it's a shame, considering that the rest of the job (polishing, gold bolts, paint) looks pretty good.
If i were you id get a steel centering rings, instead of those plastic ones. The hub bore will have to carry all of the loads that are usualy reduced by bolts. Even if it's a cruiser the vibrations from a poorly centered wheels will drive you crazy and destroy the smiles too..ask me how i know:)

p.s i'm not trying to be a dick or smth, just sharing some info/thoughts. you may disregard them if you wish.

not at all bro, no offense taken...I will be ordering the steel rings here soon, and as far as the redrill, it was an adventure with the company I had them done with. This final result was a direct result of me chewing that ass, you should see the crap they tried to deliver the first time out.

you will want to match the taper on your lug set--the reason they have the taper seat is for the amount of surface area of contact is increased. If your not doing a taper seat in the re-drilled wheel your going to loose a wheel with in 1 mile <lugs will loosen>--take one of your lugs and your set back up to your shop and get that done.

I like the aesthetics of your wheel set--the gold hardware looks good, damn good.

                    matched

my wheels where done by LAX wheel refinishing and they did a great job, balanced out perfectly lug nuts fit as good as OEM

There's nothing wrong with redrilled wheels, it just needs to be done right.

The OP's wheels look great cosmetically but the lug holes are definitely a concern in my eyes.

Pilot what are the offsets on the wheels? You might have to grind the back side of the wheels or might have to run spacers.
