Finally bought an E30! My first BMW!

So yesterday I picked up my E30... Its a Bronzit 1989 325i Coupe with a 5 speed. I've been looking for an E30 for about a year so when I saw this one listed on cl, I jumped on it. Its got a fairly straight body except for a couple spots on the hood and a small ding rear drivers side quarter panel. The only rust I could see was on the right side of the rear valence.

My dad and I drove to Alabama from Georgia yesterday to pick up the car. It definitely needs some work, but I'm ready for it. The guy told me it needs a new head gasket because its got a leak between cylinders 5 and 6. The clutch and brakes need to be bled. The car is also missing an exhaust. Other parts I know it needs so far include an air intake boot, various relays, and a new radiator.

I got a pretty good deal for it, so I'm happy with the purchase.

    Now on to pics!

And all loaded up on the trailer

Plans are to sort out all of the mechanical issues that it has right now, then do the timing belt/water pump and all that, and then start on cosmetic work.

With a nice wax and polish that will be nice! It looks to be very solid overall. How many miles? Good idea towing home to do the tbelt.

Yeah, i think it will clean up nicely. And the odometer reads 120,XXX miles but the guy I bought it from only owned it for 3 months and hadn't driven it so I'm just assuming its broken. We really had no other option than to trailer it though because of the brakes/clutch.

Uhh I'm a little confused here. Didn't 89s come with plastic bumpers? I thought 88s were the last year with metal and they were basically a direct swap to plastic bumpers. And I read somewhere that airbag wheels were first in production the second month of the 1990 model year. Didn't 89s come with non-airbag wheels?

And thanks for the congrats everyone!
