All that "safety" stuff is fun to look at but sucks to use daily. Have fun with it though. Just don't weld it in incased you don't like it. I would probably still own this car of I didn't go down that path...

I'm going to chime also and say this car looks sick! I actually really like the sticker on the fender, it goes. If my car wasnt "Safari beige" and I could pull it off, I'd have one too:p....and I'm old.

24V M50, M3 cams, Turner Tune, full exhaust, ect....

I will unfortunately smirk when you get into a fender bender on the 5 fwy and suffer irreparable brain damage from having a cage and not wearing your Stig helmet on the way to work where you take pictures of cars.

Best case scenario, you will still retain the ability to use the crayons and paper offered in your adult care facility where you will live out the remainder of your days.

DONT PUT A FUCKING CAGE IN YOUR DD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How would I suffer brain damage if I only did a half cage? I don't think my head would be anywhere near any of the bars. Not sure why it matters to you so much anyways haha, seems like you're getting a little too excited. Shouldn't it be my choice anyways on what I prefer to do with my car? Not sure why it matters so much to you...

Why don't you own the car any more? Was it a half cage or full? Looks pretty damn dope to me, damn...

Bare minimum, If you put one of those seatbelt bars in, and were rearended, you run the risk of spinal damage. If you get slammed in the drivers front corner from a frontal collision, chances are, your head will end up headed towards the backseat, right into the real estate the top of your 4-point hoop will be renting.

I'm just telling you, it's not smart. But you keep doing the Ricky Racer stuff, and let me know how it works out for you.

(Also, get front and rear euro bumper trim)

Maybe I'll have to look into some roll bar pads. <3

I would buy some if I could find a good set, I need some terribly. I also need euro blinkers and de tint comes Thursday. I'll talk to you in a month and let me know what you think of my car.

In all seriousness, then what makes the same setup safe on the track?

With a fixed back seat and a harness I can't imagine ones head making its way back to a roll bar / half cage.

                          ...

1st My sticker comment was for his "gopro" sticker on the quarter window. Again I'll state I like the fender ltw flag VINYL. Doing a GTS name and flag sticker while he's in HPDE group 1 (beginner) is a bit much. He's 19 and sounds like he wants to have a more mature look on the car so I'm giving him my .02 cents w/e its worth.

2nd OP it's called a roll bar NOT a cage. You state cage people are thinking you really mean a cage. There is no such thing as a "half-cage" as it's called a ROLLBAR.

You would have to drive with a helmet on all the time to make it safe.

I guess never owning a car with a roll bar and fixed back seats I'll bow out and take your guys' word for it.

I am just not visualizing in my mind how your head could hit a roll bar - I guess weird things happen in a crash.

It all depends on his height and how the rollbar is made. If his seatback is at or behind the rollbar then the safety issue is just retarded (yes I said the R word as it's appropriate).
