    Round 2 @ a 1/4 the price

last night my dad and i drove up to Sonoma because there was another Mtech2 vert for sale. had her towed to san jose at 1am got home at 4am. but it was such a cheap deal.

alot of people missed that i did a manual swap, e36 ps swap and full engine rebuild in two weeks over Christmas vacation.

    this is round 2

    the good:
    $1000 for the car
    New top
    great paint.

    the bad:
    everything else.
    engine is blown
    power top is broken
    shot suspension
    needs exhaust
    interior is horrid
    cracked dash
    mtech valance is torn up.

tonight i'm getting him a dash as a late father's day gift.
then sourcing an engine and all the rest to get her running.
    Much wow

Vedddy naiiiice my friend, if I may, I will suggest at least an m50 for this one 'cause I know you'll do it right.

        Congrats buddy.

You should ditch that silly M20 and put an M50NV in there. ;)

started the tear down today. someone forgot to do the timing belt, for forever... 142k and one timing belt will kill the engine. 2 cracked rocker arms and a sheared off tensioner, only held on by the cover.

also taking care of a leaking battery helps also

and seat covers dont really hide all the truth.

block looks good. just need cleaning honing and rings and bearings.

                          Update:
                          A soul was stolen
                          Two twins hang out
                          Heads get stripped for cleaning

Hit the junk yard at 8am had a few cars to pulls some heads off. The only problem NONE of them were there for being totaled in a collision… so we ripped the soul out of a late model that had BMW coolant in it. Unknown milage but the car has a low of upgrades and new parts so we were banking on them taking care of the engine.

Got the head off in 35 minutes.

And grabbed the late model tail for the hell of it. Dad ended up knocking it off the shelf in the garage and chipping it pshaw! Oh well.

Some cars should clearly not be touched by their owners.
This guy was like F*ck fuses I’m never changing anything again.

                          Long live the idiots!

Did some exhaust inspections and subframe checking while I waited for my dad to meet me at his house.

                          Twins having fun.

Driveway rebuilds are so much win!

This is all for today. Tomorrow we pull the block and the tranny out.

I envy, how much you actually get to do with your Pops. One day I hope to be able to have those memories with my Son.

                            Good progress guys.

Another old man having a great one on one time with his son. Priceless! The days that I work with my sons on their cars are some of the best times I have in life. I hope they feel that way too.;)

You are making some great headway. Can't wait to see your next post.

                              Cheers,
