Ok, check this out
It is an early model shell. I can see the original coolant res. bracket on the right strut tower. But it has a late model radiator, and expansion tank... Furthermore, there is clearly ETA management at work here. I don't get it when it has an I cluster.... PLUS, if this was an 87IS, why is there a 6 button OBC? The 87IS came with a 13 button OBC.
What is this car? - It is a US spec, 1987 E30 325iS professionally converted to E30 M3 body using all original metal OEM E30 M3 body parts, E36 M3 5 lug suspension, BMW E36 M3 Front brakes, custom interior.
ENGINE:
swapped 325iS M20 motor was rebuilt including re-done head, new gaskets, hoses, new timing belt, water pump, full tune-up (filters, plugs, etc..) DINAN chip. This motor pulls really hard, the car is very very quick with a nice power torque curve, it has a lot of power in low and high RPMs with nice mid range ooohmpp. There are no hick-ups, no dead zone in low RPMs (like the s14 motor), this car is fully capable of being a daily driver as well as canyon rocket, it can handle any kind of task you throw at it, this motor is surprisingly capable and is really fun. Motor has about 78k miles on it, no leaks, no problems !
I am not trying to call anyone out as far as workmanship goes, but if I was buying this for 13k, or even 8k, I would want to know what I was getting with my salvage title. This car doesn't look like an IS car to me. If the shell is in fact, an 87IS, the rest is a hodge podge of parts slapped onto a rolling shell including the e30 m3 quarters, roof, spoiler, and front clip. Sorry man, can't figure this car out. Maybe that's why it hasn't sold?Last edited by delatlanta1281; 09-15-2011, 12:49 PM.Yours truly,

Help me out here. Am I going bonkers?

The reason this car isn't being sold is cause IT HAS A 325E ENGINE. no one is going to pay $13k for an eta, bottom line. You say it's an 'm3 replica' but it has an eta engine, I cluster, E36 suspension, etc. It's just not going to happen. Get your workers to do an S52 swap and then it will sell.-AlexComment

Meh, these are legit questions in my mind. If I were selling a car, I would want to answer them. But I guess no one feels the need to.Yours truly,
