    this is Cheesy...

named for a receipt for a cheesy gordita crunch found in it at the time of purchase, it is our race truck, built and raced in the 24 Hours of Lemons. Appropriately for a pickup truck, it is powered by an M30 :D

    some photos:

some video of one of our fastest guys goin' round and making some passes:

we ended up not doing too great at Thunderhill because we lost 3 hours on Saturday to diff failure, black flags and trans grenading, and were unrecoverably hit off the track with 20 minutes until the checkers on Sunday, but the car was still damn fast with terrible suspension and an open diff, managing a 2:22. (2:15.3 was the overall fastest lap)

she will ride again in two months at Infineon!

zero laps! we got a $100 residual ($400 to spend) from blowing 2 motors in the last race, were able to do the swap only $24 over-budget, and I bored judge Johnny so much by attempting to describe this that he said "screw it, against my better judgement I'm giving you 0 laps, get out of here".

Yeah cuz the rest of the tem isn't on r3v, they instantly are not into e30's, right?

Sick lulz. Did you use a low volume, monotone voice? That always burns people out quick.

BTdub, is Jay a member of the team? Maybe contact Big Dog Garage with pics, and tell them that it's their Jay that inspired you even if it wasn't and score a tour of the garage.

good documentation, boring explanations, and goodwill from the judges and Jay (which we might have spent during this race by getting too many black flags :S)

where have you seen it? I hear that it was on Jalopnik at some point but was never able to find the article...

freeride, the mt2 skirts are fiberglass knockoffs. Car also had front and rear fg mt2 stuff, but the front got torn off before the first race and the rear got mangled in a wet spin in a test&tune at Infineon in March.

the "Jay" is a reference to Jay Lamm, the organizer of 24 hours of lemons.

Seeing this car in action makes me happy. This thing is awesome.

Chris seems pretty smooth, he was the guy with the Boxster right?

You're so lucky you got Johnny as a BS judge! Phil is a HUGE e30 hater.

Glad to hear you guys got the m30 in and running.

                              Step 1. weld that diff
Step 2. cut your front springs
Step 3. throw some 2.5" coils in the back
Step 4. cut out the shock bumpstops
                              Step 5. Profit!
