People don't always do things to their car for winning purposes. Removing the stereo could be the start to a full stripped interior.

and auto-x is a competition. unless you're just doing it for fun. but then what is the POINT of stripping your interior or buying a CF hood if you times mean NOTHING? it's just throwing money to better a number with no reason behind it.

one of the main focuses of auto-x is car control and fun, but people worry about classes and the mods allowed so they can actually have a purpose.


if you're not actually doing the competition aspect, buying mods and trying to make it faster is like spending top dollar for a tennis racket to hit a ball against the wall.

Let me try to expand your small thinking here.
If your not at Nationals why do you autocross? FOR FUN! Being a Regional champ doesn't mean shit at the National level and that's the only real competitive level.
I know several people up here that have dedicated race cars and go out for autocrossing for fun. Yes they get a time but the time is for telling you where you sit in COMPAIRISON with others. Not to tell you you lost. People do mod their cars (for autocross) for fun.
If I "win" it's just a bonus.

He already has a stripped interior and anyone that knows anything about removing weight, the weigh adds up. There are very few things you can do that removes a lot of weigh all at once. But by removing a lot of small items, all it does is helps.
It just seams childish to see people respond that way. At least you were giving him information about classing unlike some others.

open class is fun to run in - i run OSPU (over street prepared under 2.5 liters) and get my butt kicked most of the time, but its fun to run with the good drivers and prepped cars. it is an "open class" with no limitations... good fun.

i don't think it was the weight reducton that people were questioning. I think is was the moving of the idiot panel.
