I don't know what I was doing wrong... I had 225 fronts and 245 rears. My 225s kept hitting the subframe when I would turn and I was getting slicing on the 245s from the fenders, even after I completely cut the fender lip off and had the inner and outer fender welded together... got me so frustrated a pretty much tore my car apart and got he M6 instead. If I can ever find a good E30 coupe lying around I'll get it and swap in the M30 motor again and leave the rest be

If he is using E36 M3 wheels, he isn't using E30 M3 parts as the offset is completely wrong. E36 parts require 38-41mm offset, I believe the E30 M3 goes for something closer to 20mm (it might be 18mm or something like that... don't know exactly). That's why people like to go for the E34 M5 throwing star wheels with the E30 M3 suspension swap... matching offsets.

edit: read below... I can be an idiot from time to time.

    Looks good Jordan

Nice work on the rims. They do look like they belong on the e30.

Now I am feeling exceptionally stupid for not reading thoroughly... but what... is he running 20mm spacers to fit those wheels?

spacers, behind the rotors in order to run e36 brakes.

I can physically feel the synapses in my brain breaking... spacers behind rotors... is that kosher?

some tuners like it, some people feel its ok, there are some "professional" kits that include these...

i am not a subscriber to the idea.

Jordan, the car looks awesome. I'm not a fan of the DS2's at all, I would have much preferred the Contours. But like you said, they're temporary. What do you plan to replace them with?

                          18x8.5 CSL replicas...

I stayed late at work tonight, filled the diff with redline, bled the brakes again (worked this time) rolled the front fenders, cut the rear inner lip off the fender (just 1/2 the width of it, before the spot welds), and did an alingment.

Car drives wonderfully. From a 5mph roll I can go WOT and shoot to redline with a good deal of smoke :) Even with the 245's. Fairly cold of course, but still heh.

Traction off the line is stellar. No more spinning half through 2nd on launches. Brakes are pretty good. Certainly better then my e30 brakes were. I expect they will get alot better as the pads front and rear bed into the rotors. All virgin surfaces there. Also there is some paint overspray on the rotors friction surface so that plays a roll in slicking them up too.

Anyways.... NO rubbing in the front. Turning radius does suffer ever so slightly, maybe lost 1/10th of my lock to lock. Not a problem though as its rarely used except to park maybe.

Barely any rubbing in the back. Only time its rubbed thus far was while squating hard slamming into 2nd, and only on the drivers side. I will see where the paint has rubbed off and trim that section further.

The DS2's are growing on me. I must say they aren't my favorite wheel, but they do look so much better in person. Even I'm disappointed with how MEH they look in pictures. Doesn't help that all the pictures were taken in bright direct sunlight.

I like them, they are ten fold over the old wheels I think it really adds to the skirts and rear end look. People are nit picking a sweet sweet ride IMO. I say keepin on trucking Jordan, I couldn't have imagined the car looking much better then it did, but again I was wrong.

how big of spacers in front and are you having any shimmy issues?? i have the same set up on my car albeit 255's in the rear. i too have rubbing out back but its bearable since i put the spring pads back in on the rear. your car looks way better with those wheels. im running a 5mm spacer in front and its been fine until i swapped track wheels on and off. now i have a wicked shimmy in front above 60mph. spacers and hubs are clean, if i fuck around with them hand tightening lugs i can get it better but its not perfect. its pissing me off and i have 4 hours into trying to get it right. i need to check to see if a tire is self destructing but i suspect a non hubcentric issue
                                ps i have a stock e30m3 5 lug swap
