    My 325iS thread

Ok so I somewhat introduced my iS with my vert, but here is a thread just for my Alpine II.

Ok so I got this car on July 1st, 2011. The previous owner says that the head has been rebuilt with triple angle valve job and all. All I know is that this car runs really well and the valve train is pretty quiet. It is however (at this point) running rich.

At some point in time one of the previous owners installed 3 gauges in the center console. They were tasteful enough to buy VDO black gauges with the orange back lit displays, perfect match to factory! Also someone installed some hideous Recaro knock-off seats, which I never took pics of because they would have broken the camera! Oh and the front end has been tweeked at some point. As usual this car has a lot of items to be addressed but due to a small budget (Family of four on a full time students salary) this build thread will progress fairly slowly.

And here is the story about the seats. It is long so get comfy....
I hated old seats! I found better seats cheap!
    The End!

    Next on the agenda,

I will update as I go but it will be slow!

They are out of a 09 Hyundai Tiburon. I have seen someone else use Hyundai seats on one of the forums and I now know why. They are extremely simple and supportive. I dont have a BMW sport seat narrow ass, so these seats are awesome. Plus the rails are the exact same width apart as the OEM seats. I only had to make simple brackets for the rear bolts. The rails are 4 inches longer than the OEM seats. OH and they are cheap, I picked up this set for $80!

I have been really happy with them so far. When you get a set flip the drivers seat over and cut off the bracket that tells the SRS when you are to close to the steering wheel. Other wise it digs into the carpet not letting you slide the seat forward to far. It can be done with a dremel.

I recognized the seats right away. My ex had a 07 Tiburon GS. Looks good in the BMW!

let's see those gauges you speak of. Bro, at $1200 you got a smoking deal on a relatively clean looking car. Congrats.

I really like the simple seats, you've done a great job so far. I like when people think outside the box and share.

Ok so I put on some used ST front springs today. I ran out of time so the rears will go on tomorrow. I got a little over 2.75" drop with these springs and combined with my billy sports the ride is really good. Of course once the GE coil overs arrive they will replace these but in the mean time....
