My introduction into the world of E30s

So, I bought this gorgeous E30 from a BMW hoarder: black 88' coupe with only 118,000 miles. I have been schooled on the fact that I should not have one unless I know how to work on one - I do not, YET, but today I am diving in . . . changing the cap and actually made the decision that the old cover is better than the (used) new one I am replacing. So new, used cap - keep exsisting cover (cleaned it and it looks like new. Look, baby steps . . . I have to start somewhere. Any and all advice is welcome as long as it is productive advice and no trolling BS. Oh yeah . . . it's definitely cool to get my hands all dirty with engine dirt and grease :)

How aboot pics of the new ride. I'm partial to `88 Schwartz E30s, since I have one, too!

Welcome, BTW asking not to be trolled is a sure way to get trolled.

Lot's of girls lately getting into cars as well. Pretty cool to see someone not scared to get dirty working on their own car.

                congrats and good luck

Thanks . . . honestly not worried about the trolling: was poking fun at my discovery that most R3Vsters are youngsters, just sayin.

Decided to clean up some wires while I was switching the rotor cap . . . looks great! Thanks for the hospitality boyz! Don't worry I promise I'm not a troll.

Right now want to get it up to par (don't think it was cared for properly in some ways). I would like to get it running well so my son can use it for the next couple of years. It is my textbook for learning at the moment. Eventually . . . . who knows . . .

It is a Hartge exhaust Bear . . . I have been told that was a lucky bit of hardware to come on the car. I believe it is a full kit (not sure if that is how you say it) hartge exhaust and headers? Will confirm that today.

Why will a Bentley manual help me out?
