    gold shoes for labor day...

nothing special. PO put these aftermarket 15" wheels on the car which were originally black. they weren't a glossy black but a flat black. looked like shat to me. anyway, just as a temporary fix, i decided to spray the wheels gold...came out decent i think. it def changed the whole feel/look of the car so i'm pretty happy. i plan on getting some 16" splits and lowering it a bit in the spring. this is how the car will sit until then. thanks for looking!

    before

i used the "vintage racing wheel coating" gold from eastwood. i thought it'd be a bit darker.

Looks great man definite improvement.. Did you just use those 2 cans to do all 4? did you use any clear coat? Thanks, I have some golden weaves in mind.

yeah i only used the 2 cans, but i really should've gotten atleast 3. I had just enough with the 2. i did use clear coat and it def helped bring the metallic out of the gold. i tried getting the stock weaves from the PO but he said he didn't have them anymore.

thanks. these are only temporary wheels. i plan on getting either ESM RSs or some Work Equips...either way they'll def be gold.

thanks for all the input so far! :)

Do you think the paint will begin to chip eventually?

but imo, the stock ix weaves look BEST.

well i don't expect the paint to last long especially around the bolt holes. the holes are unusually small so the PO had to use tuner lugs to mount the wheels. there's also a special socket i need to use to remove the wheels. its a thin walled socket for a splined bolt. when inserted into the bolt hole there is less then a 1/16" space around the socket so its kind of hard not to rub the socket around the hole.
