    Rebuilding/converting BBS rs 15" to 16"

    Hello!

I dont know where to put this tread but ill put it here since pictures of the car will come later.

Me and my friend were putting together some BBS RS' for his new e30 since his very hot Lagunengrün E30 with both 16 and 17" BBS RS got sold last year.
We went to Germany Early this year to get a new E30 for him.
As i said picture will come :)

We thought we'd have some fun and make a quick and short movie of it, the Conversion was from 7x15" ET25 to 9,5x16" ET-06 with 3.5 Outerlips...

Sorry it had to be youtube for those of you who hate that, but you don't have to watch it ;-)

    Cheers

great video, it was quite comical when you guys were knocking out the old lip and centers of the old wheel, you guys looked like ants working very diligently and quickly haha.

What did you use for sealant? I am at that point right now and was wondering.

I've never put sealant between each rim half, I thought that was a no-no. I usually put a bead where they meet once the wheel is together. Guess you guys haven't run into any issues doing it this way?

Thanks glad you like it, i was going to put a funny song into it but it bugged trice so i got tired trying so i made it without, would have been better with abit music :)

Motorsports: Yes they are, but these are made to fit RS 15" center and built 1" out so the complete rim gets 16" from a 15" center, then you also need innerbarrels this way, please let me know and ill find it for you.

F34R: We use something named Tec7, its kinda like silicone-sealant.

Julien: We've actually never tried doing it without sealant between the half's.
But i've always believed it would have worked fine without also, so maybe we try that later.
Zeh Germans we by parts from have always said to put sealant in between, and we've never had issues with doing it that way :-)

Sweet video! I remember when my friend was taking apart his RSs... Such a paint to disassemble 20+ year old wheels.

so you needed 16 inch barrels and lips? why not just start with 16s to begin with?
