flaps were mandatory item in some Nordic countries, like Finland & Sweden. We got rid of these laws in the late 80's. Flaps with BMW logos were available back then. Then we had some other ridiculous mandatory items, like headlamp washer system. When i had in late '80's a new E30, it had washers installed. Luckily washers are not mandatory nowadays either.

So just to clear things up, there is a difference between mudflaps of an early model and a late model? I suppose my set from my 86 325e won't fit on my 88 325is then :(

    Like previously stated,
Getbmwparts.com has the full set for early, and late models.
I got mine there, would have waited longer to find a better deal, but a friend repaid some long-owed funds and I splurged (140 inc. ship/handle)

Heh, my new iS came with stock BMW flaps (http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=227598)
How much do you think they're worth - I was just going to remove them anyway.

Those things hold in more moisture than the crack of Elijah Allman's ass....
The only flaps that trap moisture are the OEM style ones that "hug" the corner of the fender, other flaps that just rest against it dont trap anything.
