I pulled a head off a junkyard eta to replace the two bent exhaust valves i still had, only to find the timing belt was what failed and only one valve was salvagable. Had the machine shop order the remaining valve and should have the head back to put on wednesday... hope to be driving it wednesdy night! On the good side, this delay has given me lots of time to get the engine bay nice and clean.

Well, on Christmas day, after two days of troubleshooting a couple of minor issues (fuel lines run the correct way and old/bad plug wires replaced) SHE FIRED UP!!! I took her for her first drive since taking ownership, and you can bet I had a big dumb grin on my face the entire drive.

There are still some minor issues to sort out, vacuum leak - no idle dip when removing oil cap, worn controll arm bushings are causing vibration at speed when brakes are applied, cabin blower fan is squeaking when it's running, so that will soon need to be replaced. Overall I am extremely happy with this little car and it runs great for over 200,000 miles, and around 1K invested!!!

Will post clean car pics soon with bonus interior shots!!!

And if you are looking to get plastic bumpers, I will gladly take the rear valance off your hands when you get rid of it.
After further inspection, The side skirts are by Kamei, havent seen branding on the rear valance yet. Looks like they were factory ordered so I will probably keep it original.

That's not a factory rear valence. It looks to be either zender or racing dynamics.

Started ideling rough last night, replacing antiquated breather tube tomorrow. Also had symptoms of fuel starvation under WOT so, I'm driving it gently and tracing down possible clogged fuel filter/dirty injectors...

Solved the rough idle issue I was having, and the fuel starvation issue at high rpm's as well! How did I (Swiss and I) do this? Replaced the pu$$yfied in tank fuel pump with a high flow one and deleted the secondary pump. This workrd like a charm and solved both my issues! I also have replaced the intake boot, and an O2 sensor so far... was thinking of replacing the TPS but it seems unnecessary at this point. Ordered center support bearing and guibo to get rid of drivetrain wiggle and should be installing that this weekend!
