    Picked up a 1988 325ic cabrio for $2300!

    I finally found a great deal on a 1988 325i cabrio. It has 78,000 original miles, manual transmission, almost flawless interior and exterior w/ original paint. The engine is smooth and strong and the tranny performs excellent. I jumped on this on Craigslist and took it home for $2300! Not sure what the guy was thinking selling for that price....

      That shift knob just seriously made me lol.

      Car looks nice though man, great buy. Little things here and there, get rid of the sticker on the rear bumper and that longhorn badge, and you have yourself a very nice looking 'vert. Congrats.

        Thanks for the nice welcome. My plans are to drive the damn thing!!! Actually I have a 1990 325i that needs some attention first, and a 2002 Z3 that could use some new belts and gaskets along w/ a 2003 530i.
        as odd as it sounds, I actually like the diving boards on the 325i cabrio. Sonce the car is virtually all stock, I plan to keep it that way and invest in making my 1990 325i something to be reckoned with.

          About the shift knob;

          Thank you!
          I quickly became aware that the shift knob was not factory. I can't even keep the thing from spinning arounf no matter how tight I clamp the screws down. Ordering an OEM one this week! I plan to drop the longhorn badge and sticker aswell.

              He was probably thinking it was a fair price for an old BMW convertible given what the slightly newer models are going for.

                Aint that the truth! Ive seen nice e46 cabrios go for cheap.

                OP, nice pick up. I like the idea of keeping it stock. Have fun with it.

                  Very clean. The interior is original? That interior specifically is in outstanding shape. I too like the notion of leaving it stock. I might tuck the DBs but otherwise it looks terrific.
