Hey nice 2002! If you ever need any help working on your car people like Kronus and I have done a good amount of wrenching on these cars. I know I know almost ever system besides the electrical like the back of my hand. The electrical is the only part of the car I have never completely taken apart and put back together.... and the gear box come to think of it. If you need to weld a new front clip (nose) on let me know. You might be able to pull it out, but might not. I welded a new one on my car. Its a good amount of work because of all the spot welds but can be done. I will be getting a Hobart 140 MIG machine on the 22nd so I might be able to help you out. How bad is the rust? Under the carpet and around the heater box?
As fare as mods go I would keep it as stock as you can. Just go through everything with a fine tooth come. The mechanical fuel injection system will nee some work/tuning probably. Those wheels are sweet! The only real upgrades I would do are some e21 drum brakes in back and maybe some braided brake lines, and of cores spiff the interior up a bit.
Make sure to get out to some '02 events and meat some of us. The more people you know the more unexpected help you will get. Most of us are very friendly generous people ;)
Looks like you will have fun!

Whats the VIN on that car? Looks like it will be nice when done. Lots of support out your way for these cars Good luck with it
It does look like a us spec car to me though

have you run the vin on it? the rear of the car says to me us spec. the bumper has no lights in it for the lic plate and the lic plate frame that is on the car is us spec no the euro one. check under the fuse box for messed up wires or rat nest, the nose shouldnt be to hard to fix, it would be killer if the car had a set of a4 on it.

I am thinking it is a US spec 02. Never knew the factory installed a Zender kit. Run your Vin like Steve and B Randon said. MIM wheels look good on there. Engine pics?

Are you sure this car isn't from France?
Nice car though, gonna be fun seeing you restore it.

No, unfortunately we don’t have any information what happened with the car after delivery. So we don’t know when it was imported to the US.
