my definition of beefy na build will revolve around how it all looks when I pull the motor and check out the condition of the internals. I didn't get any receipts or much info on the specs of the car or modifications, but it does have some nice downpipes which lead me to believe there could be other mods.

Got some work done this morning
      my setup in the garage.

      bumper off

got all the shit stereo wiring out

      rust rust rust

I see. I think the 2002 is far more common than the smaller variants here in the US. My apologies as I had no idea the 15, 16, and 18's even existed.

Nice find sir! I'm really quite jealous. If I had a 3 stall garage I'd own a 2002 most definitely.

With that black interior, I'd take it back to Golf. It's a very fitting color for these cars and if you see it in person I think you'll agree.

The 5 speed is great for interstate driving too.

Jelly, sweet interior and better shape than many i've seen over here.

I look forward to progress reports. And seeing it restored in the spirit of the original(M10).

I have to see one in person because I'm really not a yellow fan. I saw a spread in a BMW magazine with a bright red 2002 on the cover that gave me some inspiration, but I think I want to go darker. Maybe even something like a calypso?

Thanks! the m10 is such a solid motor. this car doesn't need to be that powerful to be enjoyable, and that's what I'm trying to get out of her. Besides, I don't need another speeding ticket.

Are those fender flares factory or aftermarket? Either way, cool car!

A couple owners back I guess claimed they were put on at the factory. I don't believe much of that but all I know is whoever did install them did it right.

Not much work is gonna get done until I can get my hands on a hoist and engine stand

OK. I have to admit , I've no idea what cars they brought to the US. Either way, I don't think a Tii is an easy find either side of the pond?

01330i , the body doesn't seem so very bad. Sure there seems to be work for a few nights but I've seen worse. Just as long as you don't go taking any short cuts with that rust, please ? :)

Even if it's stock , not bad for a 60's small car..

It's not bad at all, theres just one rocker panel that needs some welding the rest is mostly surface. No short cuts will be taken on her I got all the time in the world.

tii's are very rare in my area. I think I've only ever seen one on the street. there are a few carb'd 02's.

Very nice find & going to be a fun project !! I think I'd go back with the original color & make it a visually correct restoration. Perhaps keep the Hartge knockoff's till you can find a 15" wheel that looks stock. It has a lot of potential either way - restored or a German hot rod.

I really don't think the rust looks that bad considering. Are the flairs metal?

nice that you verified it as a tii from bmw
i'd never have known from the vin
there are more than a few tii's running around the usa, but i'd wager very few german spec like this one.
what are you going to do? leave it modified or restore to stock?

+1 on the suggestion to go back to golf for a color
there are two colors, golf and colorado, that absolutely blow your socks off when the paint is fresh.

you can get euro parts from bmw motorsport
blunt is a good guy to get to know. he's rebuilt more than a couple and sells parts.

those are not Hartge knockoffs, those are MiM 1900's, a pretty legit uncommon wheel.

Today I got the MiM's off. anybody want them? I don't really like the look i would be down to trade or sell. Brakes are in good shape which is a relief because this is stacking up to being a lot of work. removed the sideskirts and am gonna get started on rust removal pretty soon. anybody in sac have a cherry picker I can borrow for a day?

This is said boobs. we cant post nudes in here right? Photoshoot will come when car is done. I think it would be weird to have a girl strip in front of a rusty stripped car haha.
