Sorry I don't know how to quote on my phone. but I have never been to the cove so it must have been UFC otherwise the only place I go to near ucsd is the tidepool bonfire area. Yeah but I might want to check out on of those campus meets sometime.

thanks again guys. don't worry I'm going to keep her clean

Yeah I plucked them of a vert at ecology, not a perfect fit because of the whole fender change but that is what heat guns and saws are for. It looks like a proper BMW to me now.

Welcome man! I was actually in San Diego early monday. I passed through UCSD to get to Black's Beach where the surf was gooooood. That cliff trail was sketchy as all hell though.

Ok so stock etas are not that much fun so I chipped my car! My uncle (the original owner) acquired the hypertech chip in the 1980's. He took it out because he thought that it was effecting his smog tests, he latter discovered it was not the cause. So I poped open the ecu and swiched them. It now has more tourque in the higher RPMs and it feels like there is a little more acceleration in the lower RPMs then before. it's not a crazy improvement like a m50 swap but it is more fun and doesn't seem to effect my millage to much.

                            the new chip

                            The ECU

                            cover off

                            isn't that pretty?

The 1984 eta didn't have a removable chip but my uncles work allowed him the ability to modify it to create one, the string is to keep it on it is a wax string designed for this type of application , it wasn't necessary but a comforting precaution.

new chip in! (i tied the sting on it again afterward)
