Well, I finally had a chance to get back to this car. The wagon is finished, the paint and bodywork and re-assembly is all complete. I swapped the engine/trans/SCs between the two E46s. This placed the original eng/trans and SC (stage 2+) back in the sedan and placed the completely built stage 3 eng/trans and SC in the wagon.

So, on to the E30:

I thought I had the new rotors for the rear and realized the vendor sent me two sets of the fronts...been sitting on them since December...ugh!!








And installed the Euro trim:







I will tackle the front of the car tomorrow:

Love 4 door IXs. Bring her out to the College Park e30 meets on Friday nights. There's always a group of us out, even in the winter, and an ix that clean would be a big hit.

I am looking for one over here that's not a total disaster, but with my budget, it will be a while.

Will do, if I forget your screenname or something - if you see a post with pics of me doing stereo stuff and I will know better whether to keep it or not

I haven't looked yet, but I think I gave away all my cassettes at some point

I think that's really a matter of preference. The reason I ask about the stock head unit is b/c my tape deck isn't working correctly, but I really dig having the stock head unit so I'm reluctant to buy an aftermarket one just yet.

I may take it out/apart, and see if I can get it to work again but let me know when you've settled on your stereo plans.
