Mine bent. I was told to bend it back.

I have plans for reinforcing it this winter.

True but I remember someone with a severe duty plate (welded to frame) and he hit so hard it tweaked the rail. I'll see if I can find the thread later

Lets not turn this into a debate over whose plate is better... there are several threads on that already.

It comes down to preference at the end of the day.

Because I'd rather have my frame railing bent on an unfortunate impact instead of a rad support, yeah. .

My raceskids has held up well to the accidental abuse it's been through. Of course it's not going to save a pan with an impact like this, or going over a curb at good speed. No skid plate can change physics.

Though I use a raceskids as well, I always DRIVE with the mindset as if I don't have one on. Sorry to hear OP, post pics of where it failed.

Whever I drive in Baltimore, I make sure to drag my plate on the monorail lines

And yeah, I was scared this about him wrecking his car.

Are you running bison over? It's alot harder to bend a frame than a rad support, which many times is covered in rot.

It's all about how you drive. Like mentioned, you have to drive pretending you don't have a plate installed; not trolly lolly thinking, "oh look a bump, meh, the skid will save me".
Though, I know some things aren't always avoidable and sometimes we're negligent lol. I'm on 3" cut housings(so imagine the suspension travel going up and down slamming pan sometimes) and I have yet to be cruisin' for a bruisin'

I agree with what i highlighted in red. I hit road construction just like he did when no signs were there. Only sign that was there was hidden behind a telephone pole with a light that didn't work. Skid plate just "shrugged" it off.
