Basically, the car stumbles, backfires, and wont rev up. Then, it clears back up, and runs fine all within a few minutes. If I clean the MAF, it runs fine for 5 minutes, and then runs like shit again. Who knows, I need to fix it this weekend.

i have been having the EXACT same problem, BUT i have an m20 so it cant be relevant. m50 dont even have Distributors rite? i was thinking it was my cap/rotor, replaced it, havent had the same problem yet, but mine was more like once every couple weeks, so i will see what happens. also i had to reset the ECU(take off neg batt cable for like 5min) to fix it.
