I first saw my eta a few years ago sitting in the back yard of my neighbors house when I moved into the neighborhood. After a couple of weeks of seeing it sit there without moving, I decided to stop in and ask what the story was. Turns out, a gentleman by the name of Chris was the owner but he wasn't interested in letting her go. You see, Chris' dad bought the car new and it was his baby, that was until his father passed away a year earlier, leaving him the car.
I stayed in touch with him and very gently bothered him over the years letting him know I would love to take the responsibility in bringing her back to the driving machine she was intended.
One day I was heading to the airport and noticed she was gone. Needless to say, my heart sank. I couldn't believe he would have sold it to someone else or junked it! A couple days later while in Dallas, I received a call from Chris saying that he had just picked it up from the Goodyear service center and she was ready to go.
As soon as I got home, I walked down the street, payed him a more than fair price and immediately drove her to the car wash. Years of sitting under a tree had taken its toll on the Alpine. I have done my best to not have to go through a respray and am fairly happy with the results.
She is now sitting on custom Coilovers, Billy sports, Vert front sway, 15x7 bbs with 15mm spacers front and rear, z3 shifter and a 731 head is now at the machine shop getting ready to go on. I am sure I am leaving a few things out.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.
