Standing water, worn tires, hydroplaned into a median at low speed ~ 45mph or so. A drunk driver crashed into the pass. side as the car was on the shoulder of the road a few minutes later on and bolted away. 100% r3v. The same spot still claims car each time it rains.Originally posted by RCWellsWhat's YOUR story?-damn, that looks like it was rough!

Just curious, how did that insurance claim work out? Who was sighted?Originally posted by e9nineStanding water, worn tires, hydroplaned into a median at low speed ~ 45mph or so. NO cops came to the scene on time. I had a padded roll bar and I was wearing a hat with a metal buckle. It did a number on my head as the whiplash moved my head back and I had to go get 13 staples. My buddy got to me (he was 30 mins away) before cops and ambulance did and took me to the emergency room.Originally posted by Joe318isJust curious, how did that insurance claim work out? The car had liability insurance. The car got towed. Took it ouf of the impound yard and stripped the goodies off of it.
My story is roll bars don't belong in street cars. I sold mine afterwards and will not use it in a dual duty or street car again.

explorer
Not an e30, but good lesson for the drinkers...
back in the day when i was 17 and stupid, i drove my Ford Explorer when i was absolutely drunk. i made it roughly a mile from where i left from of windy roads. as soon as i turned onto the straight part of the road i must have blacked out (i don't remember the crash). Judging by the 50ft. of tire marks leading up to the power pole, i was not awake. i hit it directly head on at roughly 40mph and knocked the thing down. the whole front of the explorer was wrapped around the pole and laying on it's side in a ditch full of water. i escaped with only burns on my face form the airbag. i am pretty sure the combo of seatbelt and airbag saved me from bad injuries or worse. needless to say i went to jail and learned my lesson rather quickly. goes to show what alcohol can do to two years of hard work. i highly reccomend not driving while intoxicated.
