Why is the M3's passenger front wheel so far back in the wheel well?

Very nice benz. How are those cars to own? Reliability?
Based on my experience and short bout of owning one...I can safely say that they are a bitch to own. They have a mechanical fuel injection setup which can cause absolute nightmares. The self leveling suspension is very problematic as well...and if you ever end up with one...delete it asap. Don't expect to find cheap parts either...and similarly, don't expect to find any replacement parts at a junkyard.
They are cool and all, don't get me wrong, but they are no e30 M3. I think even the 325is is a better car by far. The street version in America DOES NOT compete with the e30 m3...unlike the track version did. The street version is way more "plush" than the e30 m3. For lack of a better way to describe, the Cossie sort of feels like an e36 m3, with an s14, detuned to stock 325i specs.
Oh yeah, and dogleg trannies are VERY cool.

i actually emailed a guy about one of the benz's once. He said it ran a 14.2 quarter mile, but had just spend a bundle of money on the head. Pretty quick for a 4 banger, but i'd still rather have the m3.
