    Hi,

Amazing build, as many have already said , so just repeating ;)
Glad to see you were able to mend the engine issue and carry on!

Mine isn't s54, but similar power , and I know what you mean when you are saying you can't compare it :) it's such a huge difference that will require relearning the car !

    Congrats again !

    Congrats!

You must be antsy waiting until next Spring to really rip on it! Any plans over the winter?

Yes, that S54 engine is super special. I was extreme melancholy when I sold my E46 ZCP M3 and watched that S54 drive off.

    Yes.

You'll have to wait till 2018 for a Cotm feature. ;)

I forgot to update my thread. It finally runs like a champ ! ! ;D

I had multiple misfires and it was running like crap, stalled randomly and wobbly idle. I tested the fuel pressure and it was fine. Then I checked the coil packs. 4 of them were discontinued in 2005, 1 was from 2009 and the other wasn't listed for the S54.

One more time, nice servicing seller of crap.

I put 6 new Bosch coil packs and the 2nd TPS (actuator one, itb's one was new) since I had some self test fail codes.

It's already winter here since mid November but I had a chance to try it last week and OMFG, that's so much power and throttle response !

The Garagistic 2nd diff support is a really good upgrade. I feel how tight the rear end is now. It really makes a difference !

I worked all summer and spends a shit load of money but it worth it, I can't compare it to the chipped M50 I had. It's too much of an upgrade, the sound, response, rpm range, power gain, etc

Here's some pictures I found in my iPhone.

Nope from Korch Motorsports in Ontario.

Don't send your car to be serviced there, lol.

Finally the guy who sold me the engine lied to me big time.

Here's a printscreen from my emails:

It turns out the engine was knocking like crazy (probably the Vanos unit).

Then I decided to pull the engine out, strip it completely and see what's going on.

I think he serviced this engine with sand and poor quality oil. I found a broken slider. Rod bearings were shot. Pistons dirty as shit on top. Rings were death. The guy at the shop told me they were like they've been pulled out the river. The Vanos oil pump disc had a lot of loose, a LOT.

    Keep the updates coming!
    Thank you !

    Exhaust is:

    -Active Autowerks modified headers
    -double 2''
-2x Magnaflow 3.5'' round glass pack muffler (don't remember the length but I think they're the longest)
-double 2'' to single 3'' merge before rear subframe
-Magnaflow 5x8 muffler. I have to check for the number, I don't remember.

I bought the stack kit from 2M Autowerks and the Alpha N tune is from RKTunes.

I then decided to go all in like I did with the rest. Yay, more debts ! :rippedoff:

    So I ordered:

-complet Vanos rebuild kit (seals, rattle kit, oil pump disc, tools, etc) from Beisan Systems
    -all crank bearings
    -ARP head and rod hardware
    -tensioners and sliders
    -timing and oil pump chains
    -CP-Carrillo pistons, rings and hardware
    -gaskets and seals
    -S62 Vanos diaphragm springs
    -Vanos filter and hardware
    -S54 camshaft alignment tool
    -more stuff I probably forget

The engine and covers are gonna be cleaned. Valve seals changed. Head decked if needed. I hope to have it before next weekend. With all the parts in hand it's gonna be quick after that.

I'm freaking eager to finally do a ride. I put so much effort and time in that swap ! :nice:

It's beautiful. The black looks sick, but heaven forbid you have an oil leak you need to locate. It's going to be practically impossible lol. Amazing though.
