    My budget turbo m10

Finally got all the intercooling piping run. Still need to put the BOV on but the lack of power due to the hurricane has held that up. I think I have around $1500 it it so far. I'm kinda wishing I would have went with a front mount but with the 8 psi I plan to boost I think it would have been over kill. I can take constructive critism so let it rip;)

No I spent $600 on the car w/ all the suspension (Stage 3, bilstien), wheels Kosei, plus all the turbo stuff, 750il brake cyl, 325i rear disc swap, gauges. etc.

So I have $1500 in the car total. Maybe $300 i the turbo kit.

I'm using the stock mani, flipped upside down, then I made and adapter w/ a t3 flange. The turbo is a Borg Warner ISHI .42/.48.

If the engine holds up I will most likely upgrade to a FMIC and a better turbo. But I gotta feeling 8psi, 200k miles, and some Autoxing aren't going to mix well. I'm thinking Holest HX35 & MegaSquirt. Just hard to invest tons of cash into a shitbox.

Luckily its a throw away car at $600. And all the turbo misc parts like silicon couplers, oil lines, and fitting were all very hig quality (Earl Plumbing). So if I decided to upgrade anything I'm in good shape. Amazing how expensive the little stuff is if you do it right.

Thats the next step. Disassemble the whole kit and degrease the engine. Paint the valve cover.

As far as exterior pics I only have the ones from the day I picked it up. I havent had a chance to wheel it out of the garage and snap any pics. Once it get the downpipe on it I'll be sure to take some snap. Its a "sweet" mix of delphin metallic and flat black, lol.

Total track rat. If it explodes at the first event atleast it was fun to build and I learned a bunch about turbos. I have never owned a turbo car nor worked on one so this was a new experience for me. I just want to get it running and see how it does.

I already get Grassroots mag. Looking at the RX-7 that won last year I don't even think I could compete. Would be nice to see an e30 in there though.

seriously! $2006, i better see you there.

just a little note on the afm, you might want to turn it so gravity isnt affecting your gate. a friend of mine ($2005 challenge) had issues on the track in his miata wish such same positioning.

I was told the postion of the AFM wouldn't effect the performance. Anyone else have issues with this?

theres a guy in ft. lauderdale named Otis that has an M10 turbo that he has done all the work to himself [including makinf manifolds from scrap] Altho he has gone through 20 headgaskets, hes now making 300+ hp and torque to the wheels thanks to Mega Squirt 2

PS: She likes to munch fat chicks carpet
