            If the motor was rebuild, why did the timing belt snap?

            I'm assuming the tensioner etc was replaced.

            Who was the shop that worked on this car?

            I just want to make sure this never happens to anyone else.

                    this "shop" ruined my whole e30 experience.... and yes they are a "respected" r3v member who did the work

                      I know exactly who they are.

                      Seriously, I'm surprise no one really chimed in on the contractions between a freshly re-built engine and the belt snapping months later. For me, I wanted to know what went wrong and how to prevent this from happening to anyone on this board from a mechanic's point of view.

                      Somehow it all got swept under the rug but I am starting to understand why.
