E30 Versus GT3 RS, GTR, Viper and Corvette

Signed up for an event at Road Atlanta that I had not run before. I assumed it would be some high end cars based off their previous galleries but had no idea what I was in for. My student had a Dodge Viper SRT10... that was modded. On track during my run group was Viper Comp Coupes, ACRs, GT-Rs, Porsche GT3 RS(including a 4.0) and a few Corvettes. There was a 944 and 968 as well.

It was quite fun for me as many times I could keep up in the corners and twisty parts and then once we hit the straight it was over. Made a little compilation video. Worth the watch to hear and see a GT3 RS fly by on the straight.

Holding it down on the track in the E30... haha

If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30

It's always fun to be better at something while using inferior equipment. Thanks for sharing!

Yah. The last part of video I forgot to put extra material into the GoPro case. So you hear a lot of shake.

This is a different car. PFC06 pads on stock sized brakes. I have a pretty nicely done 24V swap and hitting ~135mph into 10a. In a 30 minute session the last 5 minutes I brake a little early. I am not worried at this point but they are getting up there in temp and better safe than sorry. This is pushing it hard for the entire session. I have no additional cooling. Simply putting on some front cooling I could push them longer.

REAL happy with the brakes. I have the E34 V8 booster/MC setup. Brand new calipers. Cheapest blanks. PFC06. My first time out in this car I was a little easy on the brakes because I had not tracked an E30. This event I was on it. There were not many cars out braking me into 10a. Really like the setup. With PFC08s out now... should be the logical next step.

All my friends say I need to take the M3 next time. Turbo M3 should surprise a few of those guys out there. Would require buying some tires and brakes though. We'll see.

Now a turbo on this E30... that would really surprise some people!
